Holiday greetings from your favourite midget

Merry belated Christmas my lovely's,

   I'm so sorry I did not post this earlier but you know how I am with deadlines ... let's just say I tend to be " fashionably late " for most things ...

   Anyways, Christmas has come and passed, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas with friends , family and random other relatives who you sometimes whish you were never related to!

   As for me; my Christmas was not too shabby, my grampy is doing surprisingly well he re-gaining his colour ,he's now eating ,walking a bit , and gaining weight; the Doctors told us that where he is doing so well they will do radiation to shrink some of the cancer so that he will be around longer. Needless to say having him arround was my favourite christmas gift. However I must say my portable record player & Beatles records is a runner up ..... which has proven to be a wonderful form of parental annoyance.. I love it !

As for Christmas day we ( being mum , dad, Me and David the little mistake ) all went to my aunt April & uncle Craig's place for and interesting dinner;
Is it possible for Mashed potatoes to be mashed so much that they turn to a soup / jello like state ? I didn't think so, but I must send out a major kudos to aunt April for doing the impossible !
After trying the " potatoes " I decided to try some of the gravy on the " potatoes " ... I figured it couldn't get any worst ...right ? Oh boy was I wrong ...it was so gross , maybe it's because i'm use to eating home made thick newfie gravy ..mmmmmmm.... , but this gravy had no flavour , it was super salty and looked like vomit ...  As a result of this horrid dinner mum isd making a newfie christmas dinner with all the fixings ,greens, turkey, slat meat , gravy , potatoes,, stuffing ect ..mmmmmm
   After dinner it was music time ... oh joy .... at this point my family turns myself & my little cousin Hanna into their source of entertainment, by telling us that if we don't sing /play guitar and or piano for them then no presents ... not too cool if I must say so ! So after a good hour of so of playing the classic holiday tunes it's finally time to open gifts. From my aunt and uncle ( April & Craig ) I received mall & movie money, plus Craig's drunken poetry. Which goes like this:

as a I sit her drinking my Beer ! " <--- yup.... that's my family ... gotta love em !

Danni's Story of the day !!

Note : I was watching Brokeback Mountain when it happened.

I looked up and out the window, saw one squirrel pointed down, the other up, looking at each other. Then one squirrel sort of batted the other one on the nose. I called my younger brother , "Hey, look, there's two squirrels fighting out here!" Then the one ran down and mounted the other one, and my face went from a bizzar smile to an "oh my god " disturbed look. I said, "No, there's two squirrels having sex out here!"

All in all it lasted about five seconds...both of them hanging off the trunk. Talk about acrobatics. Then they both ran off, in different directions, and hardly seemed to notice each other after that.

My brother , who'd come out by now, said, "Are we going to have squirrel babies around here now? "

Talk about brazen! Right in front of our window! At window height!

However to make this story truly funny I must tell you a secret ... yes that's right it's time for me to share a deep secret. Well, not deep, but..you'll realize after it's shared...

...I'm afraid of squirrels.

Yes. Afraid.
stop laughing!

It's so bad, that if there's one standing in the middle of the sidewalk and refuses to move as I get to..about 10 feet away, I'll slow down and give it some more time. If it either does nothing or stops and stares right at me, I'll go so far as to cross the street and walk over there, then cross back after I'm sure the squirrel threat is gone.

They should be on the "Threatdown with Stephen Colbert." I don't trust them.
Apparently, there's a provision in the Mankind/Squirrel treaty that says I am not a part of "Mankind", so I don't get the same privileges that everyone else gets.

I also try to keep extra vigilant in Point Pleasant Park . Squirrels there have MAJOR colonies and will snatch the food out of your hand because they're so used to humans always being around. BELIVE ME I'VE LEARNED FROM EXPERIENCE!!! Yeah, it's true. Twice in my life, a squirrel has pounced on my body as I was innocently eating ice cream under trees. Both times, I was freaked out and ran and sobbed like a blubbering fool .

My fears are well founded!!!
